Another factor here is the proportion of wages that can be saved/invested, as inflation increases, wages rarely follow as quickly, so the amount of income able to be put toward investing shrinks when prices rise and dollar value shrinks

You guys are doing a good job covering the inflation topic. One thing I've not heard anyone talk about yet is the return of an inflation mindset. It would be deadly. I was teen in the Carter 70s and just starting my career in the early 80's. Long before many current workers' time. In addition to burning out inflation, Volcker also had to change the inflation mindset. That mindset has people buying today as it will be more expensive later. Put it on a credit card as the interest (which was also tax deductable at the time) will not be any worse than inflation if buying it later (obvious fallacy but it persisted). It is also a drag on savings since savers can never keep up. Like anything else in economics, people respond to incentives. The geniuses that started this ball rolling have a lot to answer for. Such a great point on the low interest debt. I just got a house at a good price mid pandemic and am happy because I know it will go up in value with the way costs are rising and I have the price locked in. I looked at rent where I was renting and it went up this last year.

My grandpa always had a saying and it ingrained in my brain when I was young "some things are better than others to invest in but if you are ever in doubt buy land because they ain't making any more of that and people will always need a place to live and farm."

Exactly like the original snickers or any candy. Foods get hit first to s÷ if the public will accept the higher prices then the canned product then the cerals then the meat then the petroleum then their products and unfortunately this has been my watch list and my experiences lead me to believe in this schedule I thought up to be not just a theory. Guess I need to do a study. Any tips to do a backtrack Sir?
