People often say that when they read a book they love again, they discover something new. You've definitely done that for me as I watch through this again.

Hadn't thought of that connection with I Am Legend, but now that you say it, I wonder how I didn't see it before. I completely agree about that last line, it packs a punch!

I read it like the spores she first brrathed in had already transformed her to become a part of area x and it didnt need to investigate her anymore. And because of her own nature she was easily assimilated.

Endings are as crucial as beginnings to me because it's the note we are left with when we close the book. This one is perfect.
I have revisited it so many times and it never feels stale, every time I feel the same sense of peace. Assimilation.
