Racing in the desert takes a special breed of rider. It not only requires skill and stamina, but an enormous amount of bravery to hold the throttle on when your internal monologue is telling you, "Shut it down! We're going way, way too fast!" As one of the prominant off-road series in the country, The District 37 AMA Big 6 series presented by MSR has been around for years, features some of the fastest desert-style courses, and is largely regarded as one of the top racing series on the west coast, attracting thousands of entries to each two-day event. This past weekend, the opening round took place in Adelanto, California, and was hosted by—for the second consecutive year—oldschool desert club SoCal MC. And as for the track, it didn't dissappoint, as riders were treated to a course that had a little bit of everything—an Endurocross section, sweeping corners, lengthy high speed straights, and the infamous mud jump.

The entire Fasthouse crew was on hand to help support two of our newest riders, Blayne Thompson and Trevor Stewart. Both riders are young, hungry to win, and skilled at their craft. After a smooth day of practice on Friday, both Blayne and Trevor entered Saturday's big pro race confident and ready for anything. After taking the holeshot, Blayne quickly established a commanding lead and never looked back, taking home the lion's share of the pro purse. As for Trevor, after a mid-pack start, the young Yamaha rider managed to work his way into the top-10. And after pitting, he held on for 10th overall in the stacked field. When it was all said and done, we had a killer time at the event, drank a few cold ones, and watched some epic racing.

Offroad is fun and never monotonous like the track becomes.
