AA Does Make Money Which is Fine - Just Don't Lie About It

All organizations must make money to survive and AA is no different. Selling books (their books are not free and they sell them to treatment facilities and rehabs around the world!), AA conventions, and that a dollar in the basket from every person at every meeting around the world adds up quickly! Think about it, at meetings you are convinced that if you stop going to meetings, you will surely drink again and drinking again guarantees you "jails, institutions, and death!" according to the AA Bible, the Big Book. That keeps people coming back and putting their dollar in the basket. And the 12th Step is all about recruiting new members -- more members = more $$. Bill coined the term, pyramiding. AA was one of the original pyramid schemes. And sadly the teaching of AA are harmful to vast majority of people who go there. Taking on the beliefs in powerlessness, that staying sober is a daily struggle, and that you have a lifelong disease lead to higher rates of dangerous binge drinking/drug use, mental health issues, and early death. #aaisacult #DEPROGRAMFROMAA #THEFREEDOMMODEL #addictionisnotadisease
