Epson projector temperature sensor malfunction

This happened after I transported the projector on a wheeled cart. It was protected with bubble plastic but it still hit some obstacles so I'm guessing a sensor became loose. I've already disassembled and reassembled the auto-iris and the sliding filter. All seemed to be good.

If the problem is the sensor: I've seen in comments that dropping it from about 3 feet over a soft surface, top facing up, should reposition the temperature sensor, but I'd rather find this sensor and reposition it myself.

THANKS a lot for sharing this tip which saved me from becoming crazy trying to change the thermistors which weren't the problem. Thanks to this video, I hope using my beamer 8 years more !!!

Hi, my Epson projector is beeping after I cleaned the dust out, I’ve been told it could be that the sensor battery needs replacing or sensor malfunction, are the sensors always near the bulb?

Boa tarde, prezado Thiago.

probably sensor problem, I have read that if you cut the sensor and replace it with a 200ohm resistor should do the work

My brand new in a box Epson 3800 lasted less than 3 hrs of lamp time. The fans didn't go into high speed during shutdown like my old Optoma HD32 projector did (which is still working after 16 yrs, BTW - same bulb). I don't know if this is normal or not, as it's my first Epson projector. However, on the 4th time I turned it on (day 2 of ownership), the fans start normally but then go into high speed mode (no lamp) after about 5 seconds and the temp light flashes orange, like it's overheating. It's not overheating, it's ice cold in an 18ºC room (no lamp on). I suspect a faulty temp sensor/thermistor after doing a bit of reading. This does not instill my faith in Epson. The picture was mind blowing though, while it lasted, so I'll give them another shot.
