I am so with you on the loss of nuance in modern media discourse. A simplified message is one thing, but there is no nuance and we are constantly 'told' how to think about things.

Honestly as an artist the world of AI is so daunting and I feel like we’re in the end times of human made art. I cannot post my art online without it being scraped without my consent to make worse “art” four of the main platforms a lot of artists us are full of ai slop (deviantart, Pinterest, instagram, twitter). It’s really demotivating especially as art is the only way for me to make money as a disabled person

It may make sense for Microsoft to buy the NYT just for access to the text data. I'm imagining a gold rush for sources like DeviantArt and others.

I actually didn't pay too much attention to AI this year. I did observe some of the higher level messes, but for the most part I was focused elsewhere.
