In this clip from one of his Facebook Livestreams, Chick performs Children’s Song No. 1. Speaking on his Children’s Songs, Chick said:

“[These pieces] were written as portraits of the spirit of children, they’re called ‘Children’s Songs.’ [Children] are free and open and they always give us a lot of joy, and that’s what I tried to capture in these songs.”

Ho iniziato da poco a prendere lezioni di piano (a 30 anni) e questo è il primo brano che la mia insegnante ha proposto che imparassi per intero... ammetto che all'inizio non era affatto nelle mie corde, ma più parti riesco a riprodurre e più me ne innamoro. Il compositore è davvero una mente fuori dal comune... mi spiace che ci abbi lasciato 🌹
