Decarbonisation of Buildings: Key Findings from the IPCC AR6 on Climate Mitigation

Показать описание
Buildings emissions are projected to approach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in 2050 if policy packages – which combine ambitious sufficiency, efficiency, and renewable energy measures – are effectively implemented and barriers to decarbonization are removed. Ambitious climate mitigation policies for buildings have significant potential to contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals in all regions while adapting buildings to the future climate.
Brought to you by the Clean Energy Solutions Center (CESC) and OpenExp, this webinar shares key findings of the latest report on buildings from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) from its lead authors.
The webinar includes a round table discussion with energy transition leaders on topics related to climate mitigation policies and how to adapt buildings to the future climate. The event ends with a Q&A session.
Speakers include:
• Yamina Saheb, Lecturer and Researcher at Sciences Po (Paris) and a lead author of the IPCC report
• Sevastianos Mirasgedis, Research Director at National Observatory of Athens and Lead Author of the IPCC report
• M. Nigel Tonks, Director, Region Board Member and the Sustainable Development Lead for the UK, India, Middle East and Africa at Arup
• M. Adrian Joyce, Secretary General of EuroACE, the European Alliance of Companies for Energy Efficiency in Buildings and Director of the Renovate Europe Campaign
• Ms Julie Lodewyckx, Head of Sustainable Buildings Project at the French Ministry of the Ecological Transition
Mr. Richard Lorch, editor-in-chief of Buildings & Cities journal, moderated the roundtable discussion along with the interactive question and answer session with the audience.
