You should use spray foam or mineral wool insulation around doors and windows. If not using thermal breaks around windows and doors. This stops the condensation from cold windows and doors into the wall. It's "best practice". Nice build. Those studs on front wall by door look cold. You can add extra insulation on outside and bend metal for faux column or beam to insulate it. Well worth cost over time. Or even get a post cut in half will help stop the thermal radiations from the mass of studs.

I’d reconsider that cargo net, first time someone’s foot and leg falls through it will be the first (i presume) time you will be sued and then rip it out and redo the deck.

I’m guessing the surprise is a sauna. It came to me when you were talking about all the amps you needed that made you decide on a 200 amp service panel. Exterior looks so cool, I want it ! 😊

Could you possibly do a cost breakdown for this build like you did with your storage container build? TIA

I loved seeing how you got the windows into place with the two mounted ratchet straps. I'm actually building my own house 100% DIY right now as well so I about the challenge of "how to get heavy thing in place as only one guy". I'll be stealing that idea for sure

You have a beautiful home. The deck surround is incredible, gorgeous extra living space- this is one of my favorite designs. I have hardy board on my suburban 21 year old home and it’s an amazing product. We’ve never had to do a thing other than brush away occasional cobwebs in the eaves. The color is dead-on to the day we bought it. We live in north Texas where we literally bake in 100+ days for weeks at a time. The way you’ve installed it looks timeless. ❤️

I don’t know how cold your winters get, but your plumbing may need heat tape in addition to the insulated board skirting.

Yeah, Devon! Pretty good water pressure there.
I just binge watched your journey through this project. Very good job, my dude.
I just came back from Alaska and stayed in a camp that was very similar to your project here. I plan doing something similar here in Maine as well.
Thank you for sharing.

Love everything you're doing here. At the end, I would love a breakdown of your total costs, are you planning on that? I'm in rural New Hampshire and planning on building something similar, about same square footage, single slope roof, but post and beam instead of traditional stick built. Great job, looking forward to the finished product.
