I see this argument all the time. He's Greek point blank period. He was born there, thats all he's ever known, he got his basketball foundation and pretty the start he needed in Greece not Nigeria or USA. He's a product of Greece with Nigerian blood in him. He's more Greek than anything else bottom line. And that's alright. We love him no less

It's almost as if people in the don't understand that there are multiple ways of being something... There's Ethnic Greeks who trace their ancestry to Greece (Same way Giannis is Ethnically Nigerian and Greek-Americans and Ethnically Greek) and then there is being a Greek National/Citizen.

Giannis is Ethnically Nigerian and a Citizen/National of Greece... Hence he is Greek of Nigerian descent.
That isn't RaCiSt just like it isn't RaCiSt to notice that Afrikaners from South Africa aren't ethnically African.
