When people find out I’m an art historian, I get asked these questions over and over. And though the questioners might think they know little about art, they’d be surprised how profound these questions can be!
The questions I answer in this video:
1. How can I tell which art is good and bad?
2. If my 5 year old could do that, it can’t be art, right?
3. Why can’t artists draw anymore?
4. I don’t know anything about art!?
5. Does art even matter anymore?

Here’s a link to a blog I wrote a few years ago about Jackson Pollock:
And if your little artist has done a sticky work- I highly recommend goo-gone:

Sparked a great conversation between me and my husband. I use to think anyone could do like Jackson Pollock until I tried to find a similar, affordable painting. I discovered there is more talent and creativity involved than just dribbling paint.
