Sociocracy 3.0 in practice - Decision Making with Michael Göthe
Interview from November 2017
Michael Göthe, agile organizational coach at Crisp, Sweden talks about his experience applying various Sociocracy 3.0 patterns to support more effective decision making in organizations.
"I train people a bit in consent decision-making. They often come back and say ‘oh I haven't really learned how to facilitate it yet’ but just the understanding of the idea of good enough for now, safe enough to try and that it's an experiment, can totally free up the decision-making so people start taking a lot quicker decisions. One example: I was working with one person and he talked about how they had problems with decision making, so I said ‘oh so your goal is to make decisions more effective’ and he said ‘no, the goal is to actually make a decision, we’re stuck, we don’t make decisions’. So after explaining the concept of consent he came back and then they said ‘oh you know what happened? We took three decisions in ten minutes.“
