We bought our Switch in March. My daughter and I have got a ton of mileage out of it since. If your thinking about buying one, for whatever reason. I can safely say. It's one of the best consoles ever.

Bought my first nintendo switch oled last month and it's totally worth bying today.
So many good games to play.
I'm new to all the zelda games and all the new super Mario games, bought over 30 games in the last weeks and have so much to play this winter.

This video could just be Alex saying "yes!", followed by eight + minutes of silence. Or Mario Wonder footage. Or Zion sitting and eating animal crackers.

Yes! Buying my 7 year old her own Lite for Christmas. She plays mine all the time, so it’ll be nice for her to have her own. Super excited for her to dive into the library, she’s going to love it.

If you’re buying one now it’s better to buy one second hand. There are lots on eBay that have hardly been used and about 100 less than brand new ones.

Honestly, considering Nintendo will likely spend a quarter of the generation cross releasing. It'd be a budgetable strategy to buy a standard switch now, endure the compromises, and eventually spend what you saved on a second newer revision of Switch 2 putting everyone else in FOMO.

Bought a NS Lite this July and I can say it's totally worth it! I would never have played great games like Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Wonder, Luigi's Mansion 2 and 3, Breath of the Wild, Pikmin 4

Take it from me; as someone who's been around since the original 8-bit NES console, it is very much worth it to get the Nintendo Switch (take advantage of price drops on bundles during the holidays). It works well enough and has a ginormous amount of games to keep you playing it. You never know what the next-gen console will bring. *Coughs, WiiU 😅* I have the Animal Crossing, Lite, and OLED versions and I'm not planning on selling any of them. I've been buying accessories and game cards; essentially I'm preparing for the "what-if the next-gen console is a hot mess?" outcome.

I've just bought a Switch, and I don't care that the new version may be released in 2025. Since I'm gaming on PC, I only plan on buying Nintendo exclusives, and I don't need that many games on the go. That is, I don't care that I will miss out on the newer releases.

Bought my OLED switch last month. So far, it’s been worth it especially when you are eye-ing to play a game you really want to experience and try. If the switch2 comes out soon, I’m planning to just buy it after 2-3 years after its release ‘coz I’m still going to check out its reviews when it releases.

I think the Switch is easily the best console of this generation. At least it has games.

At this point I'm just waiting for the successor.

I upgraded to an an OLED very early this year expecting the next device to come out late next year. Seems I might have been onto something. But I don't know if this is the right time anymore. I almost can't justify only having mine for about a year and a half before the next thing comes out, but now its possible the next platform will be on store shelves in less than a year. It also plays Switch games, so with that in mind I think we've officially crossed the threshold of it being too late to buy one. Heck it might have even been too late when I bought mine, but at least I still had over a year with it and I didn't yet know for a fact the next platform would have backwards compatibility, though it would have been silly of Nintendo not to add the feature.

Yep for one reason only: the games. Off the top of my head, I thought of Botw, Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2/3, Metroid Dread, Pikmin 4, Mario and Luigi Brothership, Splatoon 2/3, Smash Ultimate, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Pokemon Legends Arceus, Kirby Forgotten Land, Mario Wonder, Mario Maker 2 and any of the Mario parties. And that’s not even counting the countless ports, remasters, and remakes of already existing Nintendo games like Metroid Prime Remastered, Links Awakening and Paper Mario Ttyd

Haha! I bought my Nintendo Switch Lite last week (3rd week of January 2025).
I hadn't been much of a gamer for years but then something hit me.

I was shocked a system of such great quality and a huge library of games as Nintendo Switch is almost 8 years old now. I knew my brother's kids got one but since I couldn't remember when I didn't realise it 'til now.

I got it quite cheap and now I'm a happy guy.

Personally I’m just gonna save for the new one great video tho. I will miss the red and blue joycons 😢

Edit: ain’t no way the Nintendo switch oled is only 280 dollars that’s a steal

I think the obvious answer is yes especially for those who don't have one yet not to mention the new system may be a bit or more pricey.
