People are habitual creatures. If, the habit is not introduced early in the creature's life. It's nearly impossible to introduce a new habit especially by force. It's nearly impossible to introduce a new habit by force externally and directly onto human beings.

This is why broke people stay broke, and rich people stay rich. It's also why broke people become homeless and don't recover. It's why, if a rich person becomes homeless, they can bounce back.

In order to get a broke person's habit to change, you have to make them believe they're the ones making it happen. Manipulation is a real thing. It can be good and bad.
