There's a woman on YouTube who has also lost her leg. Her solution is to just put a regular sock on it. Granted hers is right below the knee so the sock stays on pretty well but it's worth a shot

I had a chunk taken out of my left hip, very strange how you can feel it but you can’t. Like a glitch lol, admire your strengths.

It’s due to circulation issues around that area, what I do is put a sock on my nubbins to help warm it up!

Watching videos from people who had to get amputated always makes me feel the body part they lost. Like I've become aware of my left leg's existence. If that's how phantom pain is then holy shit I'd go mad.

That feeling of cold is most likely related to your nerves. Nerves are also responsible for peripheral temperature regulation and when you cut the nerves to a certain area that temperature regulation in that area tends to go a little haywire.

i have both my legs, but with some serious nerve damage from a spinal cord injury. i truly believe there’s a correlation between the nerves and the temperature — i can tell exactly where the skin is numb even if i’m only feeling with my fingers because it abruptly goes cold. if thats true, i would expect a place with a lot of trauma, like your stump, to be cold as well!

It's due to nerve damage in the part of your thigh that you have left after surgery. Nerve damage makes that limb feel like it's not really apart of you anymore even when you still have it or have it partially. I have severe nerve damge in my left arm from birth (I got stuck in my mom's birth canal and had to be yanked out causing the nerve damage as well as broken bones) and it always felt like that limb wasn't really attached to me and has a mind of its own. I get stabbing sensations constantly and muscle contractions. That arm is always cold while my right arm is totatly normal. It's all due to nerve damage and your brain recognizing that something is not right.
