In September, I got an Instagram DM from a health page in Vancouver commenting on one of my YouTube videos. She was sortaaa cute. We started talking and next thing I know, we've been living together for 3 months. This is the story of how it happened and how it's going.

My husband and I met Christmas 1972 and started living to gether 4 weeks later. This January, we celebrate 50 years together, 8 biological children, and 4 adopted. 42 grandchildren and almost 9 great grandchildren. We've had our struggles, but we talk and work through them, hope it works out for you guys 🙏❤️

You make a really cute couple - both very attractive and you have energetic, yet easy-going personalities. You come across as open to cooperation, and committed to being active and trying new things. The fact that you both come from opposite ends of Canada does put an extra challenge in an ongoing relationship, but I think you both have your eyes wide open. I would love to see the relationship and friendship grow, but I do know you will both be better as a result, even if some hitch develops. The two of you make a a very nice couple --it is almost like you are meant for each other. Living alone or with another is not easy, they both require a certain set of skills that come into play within your circumstance. There is more interpersonal compromise in a couple situation versus living alone. What is important is to value the time you have, whether single or as a couple. I don't feel marriage is a mandate in society any more, you just need to figure out what is really important for the time being and never feel like you have given up too much for something, otherwise you will be miserable--whether single or married.

There used to be a song that went ' Sometimes you just gotta jump cos you are gonna land, Somewhere. ' When I was backpacking I once moved to Vancouver cos there was a girl I liked who lived there, and then she moved back to Scotland about 3 weeks later. What followed was the toughest - financially - time of my life but I made some amazing friends and I learnt the true value of friendship along the way. Looking back It worked out to be one of the most rewarding times of my life. 'You are never gonna see new oceans if you are afraid to leave the shore ' is one of my favourite quotes. Good on you both for leaving safe harbour far behind. all the best.
