I have NEVER had a pull rope break on me, snow blower, lawn mower, weed whacker, chain the backyard gate! I got to give you props for the time and patience you put into the repair of a pull rope. All my equipment is old but made in AMERICA. I do have some problems finding parts. Especially TECUMSEH engines! B&S not too bad...YET! My MTD Snow Blower has a "T" engine. However...my next Snow Blower, GOD HELP ME NOT TO REPLACE THE ONE I GOT, will be ARIENS. I'm 73 years old and I KNOW what was once MADE IN AMERICA...OLD SCHOOL TOUGH! I still use Pop's tools from 1942 and I was born in 1949. Pop's taught me that equipment and tools need to be taken care of and the equipment and tools will provide for you and your family. We had a 1947 Oliver Tractor that we used to pull our 1955 John Deere out of trouble. Pop's loved that old Oliver. But..that John Deere was made for comfort and speed. When the SHTF...here comes old "OLLIE" to save the day. Even mom drove old "OLLIE." Mom pulled out our John Deere and our 1949 Ford Coupe with old "OLLIE" together when stuck in a mudbog near the house. Waist deep mud! Never forget it! Ford a little above the doors, Deere buried up to the frame, POP'S MAD AS HELL! Mom gets Ford stuck, Pop's on Deere goes into mudbog to get Mom out, Deere can't pull???? Mom wades out of mudbog to get old "OLLIE." Together Pop's and Mom hook up old "OLLIE" via a drives old "OLLIE" and Pop's drives the Deere...the Deere and the Ford popped out of that mudbog like a champagne cork! Me and my sister were in the Ford, WOW! Pop's and Mom worked together like the equipment they took care of. Always ready for life's problems. We also had a FORD 1955 Tractor that both Mom and Pop's loved. I took that same tractor to my ranch in 1978 and used it almost every day until 1995. Then my sister took it back to Pop's ranch because Pop's needed it in his old age to maintain what little of the ranch Pop's still had. Mom had passed away. The grandkids learned to drive on that old Ford tractor.. Pop's passed in 2012 and his brother took the Ford tractor to Iowa where it is today and still running. Lesson is: MAINTAIN IT, DON'T REPLACE IT! Old got to love us! We got stories we love to talk about. Even if the next generation don't care. Garage Gear Rocks!

Thanks so much for the video. This is just what I needed to see to replace the recoil rope myself. I thought I was going to have to buy a new mower.

This looks to be my same mower, which I love. Aluminum deck, personal pace, super recycler. Mine is about 20 years old. I'll take an old mower over most all new crap being built today.

Yup, I don't know how many recoils I have repaired over the years because people think that once they pull out the rope or it breaks, they simply throw them to the side thinking they can't possibly be fixed. I think I can fix them with my eyes closed by now!

Extremely helpful I’m not a handy person at all and this wasn’t the exact model toro that I have so I have to watch it a few extra times since my steps were slightly different but this truly helped fix my starter. Thank you so

Fixed in 20 minutes thanks to your video. You saved me at least $100 that a repair shop would charge. Easy instructions and entertaining. Thank you so much!

Creeping up on 25k JB. Keep the videos coming and you are doing a great job with the content. This is a video that will do well. People will always need to replace one of these ropes. It will save them time and money to be able to do it themselves. I suggest heating up the knots after they're tied. It helps keeping them tight and less of a chance of coming undone. See you soon buddy.

You had me dieing laughing over what you said about reaching into a bucket of bolts and pulling out a handful of different size bolts to put it together lol 🤣. Keep these videos coming i learn a lot of different techniques from you on repairing things. I'm looking forward to the next one take care my friend. 💯💪👍

my pulled cord came all the way out. Any tips for winding it back up once I get to the step of putting in the screwdriver? Which I assume isn't needed since cord is completely gone.

Quick question. I've had the cord replaced once before. It appears that the shop installed nuts on the bottom of the 5/16 screws that hold the tank. Can't get them off. Either I cut them off or what about drilling out the rivets and removing, then re-riveting the assembly back into place? Good idea or not?

The information regarding the screwdriver falling out of the spring retention position IS worth a ⚠️ WARNING ⚠️
👍🏻👍🏻🤬🤬
I would have cleaned that weed seed infested mower at his house before coming near my lawn 😁
Great info once again JB
