I thought the same thing about Ben mysterious exit, when you mention Dan from S39.
A similar unhealthy event happened in the french version in 2019 when a 21yo woman got SA by a 33yo man from her tribe during the night. At the time the production quickly decided to cancel the season, the game was at day 5.
It was the second time in "french survivor" history that they cancelled during filming after 2013 when a 25yo contestant died of an heart attack during a challenge, then later the production's doctor commited su*c*de because of the tragedy, ...and then the show stopped for a few years.
