Haven’t touched my first guitar in more than a year but refuse to sell it

I'm 63 years old, have lived all over the country, and still have (PROUDLY) hanging on the wall my first guitar, a Japanese-made Ventura 335-type guitar. My parents bought it for me when I was 12 (1972), and I hated it, cause all my friends had strats and teles and solid body guitars. Today I love that we've both survived the journey, so far✌

RIP Tim. Know that your influence on Tyler caused a ripple in the waters. Think of how far your passion for music has spread, channeled through him, to millions of his followers, and inspired them to learn. Thank you for you performance down here, good Sir.
Now go take your place on the big stage, in the house band.

My first guitar actually ended up at a local music store and my wife bought for me for Christmas. It was a crappy Harmony I purchased through Fingerhut. In high school I had given it to a friend after I purchased a new guitar and then never saw it again. Then over 20 years later I see it in the music sites Facebook and told my wife about it and unwrapped it in Christmas that year. It was a cool experience.

Prayers, love, and best wishes to you and your family brother. You inspired me to learn to play, and i just bought my first guitar a few days ago actually. I will definitely hang on to it.

I still remember the day my younger brother came to my house with his guitar and said “I want you to have this”- he passed away 3 months later due to cancer.
Then I start learning to play guitar and this cheap guitar is a treasure to me.

Hey man, I'm sorry for your loss. I said a prayer for your family. I love that Tim was an inspiration to you, and his son is playing too! Very cool. Good of you to make that trade. It may just push him into the next level with that bit of inspiration.

I've started guitar lessons. Starting on Acoustic for now, though I aim to mainly play electric. Let me tell you though, I love this thing so much. I'm keeping this thing until I die, and even then I'm probably getting buried with it

We all need that someone to show us the way to music. It's my dad who showed me. Thanks, Pa.
Thank you Tyler for the story. Sorry for your loss. Uncle Tim lives on.

My favorite is still my first guitar. It took me a few years to figure out that the one you learn to play on will always feel the best in your hands. It's a Fender MIM bought new in '96.

Awesome video! My first guitar was a prs se Santana that I worked an entire summer to buy when I was around 20ish. Still have it almost 20 years later. Sometimes the mojo is just right...and this one is still my main electric guitar.

Rest well, Tim.
My 1st was a Crate Electra Standard, a black Les Paul copy. Still have it over 20 years later! ...everything eventually got worked on or replaced lol, the only things original are the nut, bridge, and paint. 50s wiring, Gibson pickups, and stainless steel re-fret, it plays like a dream.
