In this video, I compare the iPhone's Siri to Android's Voice Actions to Windows Phone's Tellme. I do a couple of tests ranging from asking the phones for weather to asking for directions or an answer to a question.

The phones I used to test each platforms voice assistant were the iPhone 4S (Siri), the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Voice Actions), and the HTC HD7 (TellMe). The iPhone is running iOS 5.1, the Galaxy Nexus is running Android 4.0.2 Ice Cream Sandwich, and the HD7 is running Windows Phone Mango 7.5.

So which mobile operating system's (iOS vs Android vs Windows Phone) voice command is actually performs the best? Watch the video to find out!

"I'm drunk"
Siri - let me help you get home safely
Android - what kind of drunk are you?
Windows Phone - fuck you

Very true. I totally forgot the test that feature. Its okay, I'll include it when I re-do the test with Windows 8. The new in app voice options looks really cool.

Yeah, Voice Actions works on any Android phone with 2.2 and above. You may have to download it from the Play Store on older phones.

Yeah me too. I hope some changes come to it with the Apollo update.

They use dessert names for each iteration in alphabetical order. It started with Cupcake (1.5), and obviously now has reached Jelly Bean.

In the video, the results were being displayed in the stock Android browser. However, I use Google Chrome for every day browsing. You can download it for free from Google Play but you need to have Android 4.0 to be able to get it.

Tis is one of the few YouTube reviews that didn't feel like half of my time was wasted. Nice work! One piece missing: Voice Actions Plus is a third-party app on the Android Play Store, and runs US$2.99. There are dozens of others like it SpeakToIt's Assistant, Andy, EVA (and EVAN)- Virtual Assistant(s). Risi Beta lite, Aran, and of course, Iris. Aliftek's Personal Assistant is being blamed for a lot of spam.

Its official but you have to have Android 4.0 for it to show up I believe.

actually they're not just surfing the web. they do a lot of other stuff too. Long before Siri was introduced on the iphone, I was using voice recognition to navigate to certain locations i didn't know the address to, call specific people in my contacts or to a restaurant, play music, etc.

I just ordered a iPhone 4s too I'm so impatient to get it in the mail. Thanks your video really helped me get acclimated to my new phone.

on google its called "Google Voice Search" it is not really an assistant, but it talks back on 4.1 and it gives better results than siri

You can have android make an alarm ("set alarm for...") and take notes ("note to self:..."), it does more than just google searches.

Good video, but Google and Microsoft just basically search their browsers for what you said. Whereas siri has a designed interface for your commands. Sometimes google had a different interface but it still used the browser. Still good though, but Siri is very impressive.

Actually, MS did advertise that kind of behavior (much advanced than Siri, actually), TellMe, Siri and Google Voice are natural language processors, so it's only normal to test how they handle natural language.

wow I have had the nexus for months now and didn't even know it could do that

you forgot to mention that you can get turn by turn voice navigation when you ask for directions on Android.

hello 3:49, obviously siri wins. cause siri is sort of a robot whereby it can help you make alarm, sms and stuff but the other two is just for web browsing. u use the other to search sth on web, not to make appointments, and stuff
