Why is everyone saying Islamophobia doesn't exist? The definition is: irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against Islam or people who practice Islam. Pretty sure that's a thing?

criticism in terms of an educated, intelligent discussion on religion, culture, racial practices etc, is okay, even desirable.
Yelling an insult at someone based on nothing more than the colour of their skin, blanket assumptions regarding a particular religion based on sheer ignorance, etc, on the other hand, is not just insulating, it's downright stupid.

It's frankly astonishing how many people seem unable to appreciate the difference between the two.

I was picking my sister up from a test at her college, and I was sitting in my car for about 15 minutes while I waited for her to finish, just listening to a podcast. Important to note that I wear hijab, my sister does not. Right as my sister was approaching the car, we both notice a man walking by on his phone, and as he comes in front of my car, he seems to take a picture of me, very blatantly. My sister kind of gives him a glare, and he keeps walking, pauses, pretends to answer his phone and then walks past again, camera facing me. As soon as he passes me he puts his phone down again. Tbh I was just as pissed about him taking pictures of me in my private property as I was about how bad he was at hiding it!!!
