My blind nan has better credentials and input than Dermot Gallagher. We all know he is there to make excuses and protect his corrupt buddies. What a useless series you have here.

I mean the whole speed thing is surely not relevant seeing as one would be running with the ball, the other without? So surely the speed is then different

Was it "clear and obvious" if we started to compare speed and look at multiple factors?

It’s comical how the very next day the same scenario was repeated and no card was given 😂

Don't even care what he said the PGMOL are ruining this sport.

Wtf?!!! So they were comparing top speed... But, do they know that when you run with the ball you go slower than without? Or they never played football? This is pointless. It's done it's done. But they need to figure it out, bcs 3 red cards in 8 games is crazy to think about... Weird.

People need to ask WHY VAR got involved with the on field decision when its already a yellow???? Its on the halfway line and isn't a clear and obvious error.. WHY was Webb at Arsenals game, WHY was he listening to VAR, WHY was he texting at the point of the incident.... utter

Why did the VAR team need to be called by Howard Webb to enforce such an OBVIOUS rule? And why did the VAR team forget to enforce this same OBVIOUS rule just 24hrs later?😂😂😂😂 Rival fans blindly defending corruption is going to be the death of this sport.

It is a red sadly but that doesn’t disregard the consistent inconsistencies of the referring

The mental thing is that both were red cards but they're doing everything they can to (wrongly) justify chelsea not getting a red card. Jota was getting the ball and through 1v1, no defenders near him were getting ahead of him

Yes. Now explain why Tosin wasnt sent off for the same foul against liverpool?

Pointless over-analysis of an obvious red card, comparing top speeds for two players is borderline embarrassing

These guys will do anything for content. They'll either create controversies from correct situations or milk the heck out of controversies for story and head lines 😂

40 yards from goal without control of the ball is not a clear goal scoring opportunity.

Both incidents are red cards, what is worrying is that all 4 of these people actually believe they’re talking sense, it’s so insulting to people’s intelligence, also why was Howard Webb even at the game and not any other?

As a football referee these decisions are horrible! I don't know if these referees been smoking some serious beef against Arsenal but damn!

Too many lies and inconsistencies!

The law off the game states

Distance to the goal: The closer the foul is to the goal, the more likely it is to be a REDcard.

Distance to the ball: The attacker must have been close enough to the ball at the time of the foul.

Direction of play: The attacker must have been moving toward the goal at the time of the foul.

Number of defenders: There should not be more than one defender between the foul and the goal.

1, the foul was just over the half way line,
2, he was not in control off the ball,
3, he would have needed several touches with Saliba on his tail,
4, he would also have to beat B White to take a shot?
5, That's not a clear & obvious chance on goal.

The match official got the correct desion first time around? A yellow card & a direct free kick ( Exactly what happened when the Chelsea player rugby tackled the Liverpool player. A yellow card & a direct free kick. ( 100% correct decision)!!!!

What happened to it being too far from goal Dermot??

So now they judge by if the defender could recover or not? What a joke. Both incident was last defender so if and but doesn't work here. It's simply day time robbery.

On the penalty one from Raya, these guys had the context totally wrong. They're all saying it was right to give Raya a yellow card and never a red. However what happened was, Raya was already on a yellow card prior to the penalty decision, the referee when awarding the penalty was reaching to his pocket to show a yellow but then changed his mind as this woukdve resulted in a second red for Arsenal. Appalling how they failed to get the right context and ask the question here on why a second card wasn't given to Raya!
