New! Version 10 now includes easy file access from mobile devices

When Mac users try to access Windows file servers and NAS devices, they typically suffer from poor performance, data integrity issues, slow searches, and many other disruptive problems. Acronis Files Connect solves these problems.

At its core, Acronis Files Connect is an AFP server that runs on your Windows server and enables Macs to connect to file shares and NAS via Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) instead of the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol.

Apple is slowly moving toward phasing out AFP, and it has supported SMB for a very long time. None of the Mac users that I support who connect to Windows servers have problems. This software could be useful, but this video is misleading. It makes it appear that Macs's can't work with SMB, which is absolutely not true. The default connection protocol between Macs and OS X Server is now SMB, and it has been since 2013's release of OS X Mavericks.
