The people that call countries with no AC coverage complaining when it's 25+ degrees out, weak, are the same that piss and moan when it's 12 degrees outside, because they toes are just soooo cold

One of the issues in britain is that the houses are not set up for sunny days, they're not well ventilated, there's obviously very little AC, and things like awnings and shutters are almost unheard of, they are very much designed to draw and keep light and heat in. And of course the bri'ish people don't really have good habits for heat. So any sort of heat gets absolutely miserable very quickly and cooling down houses is difficult. Britons are common snowbirds to southern europe, so it's not really that they can't handle heat per se, it's that their environment is not adapted to it. It's like cold snaps in texas, you get a failing electric grid and dozens of dead for temperatures which are very reasonable just a few states further north.

(Laughs in Australian) It's winter here, and at 20C we are in blankets and sweaters. I remember a NYE we stayed up to watch the fireworks, and the thermometer said the air temp in the house was 50C at midnight.

I wish peak summer temps would go back to the mid 20°C's over here, but it has been consistently reaching the 30°C's for the past 4 years....

Here on the east coast of the states, we had a good two month stretch of 95 degree weather (35 Celsius for the Euro blins).

It's been hovering around 85 (29.4 Celsius ) for the past week now. I really hope it doesn't go any higher again. That was misery... :<
