I have seen the spacers and heard of 9 frames in a 10 frame box but I didn’t understand it. Thank you, this was great!

I did learn this this year i left 10 frames in the box and what a fight to uncap them. Lesson learned next year 9 frames per super as you said much easier when uncapping to spin them. Also another lesson was spin out the honey asap or canola will crystalize fast cheers

Hi Kamon, Just to say great information, I think you are the best youtube beekeeper out there, a happy life to you and your family from Johnbeemansaunders youtube UK beekeeping.

It's really nice to have the extra room to work the brood boxes without fear of rolling your queen!

I just recently started watching you're videos, and noticed right away that you only had 9 frames in a ten frame box. Finding this video explains why you do that. This is really cool information. I'll be sharing this video with my friend who is a new beekeeper.

Great videos Kamon!!

I was not able to catch myself a swarm of bees after trying sugar water, lemongrass oil, and swarm commander, but as soon as I placed a frame of old brood comb that had been kept in a freezer by a friend, with some honey leftovers (with other 5 brand new empty frames), two days later, I had a small swarm in the hive, so it's true, all you need is one frame with comb to do a split, or catch a swarm.
I placed the old brood comb in the center of the frames, if that helps, in a 10 frame deep box.
This took place in my backyard, but I already knew that there were bees around, so I just needed to provide the right place for them to move into, and do it at the right time of the year (swarm season).

I inspect hives for the state, and brood boxes with one less frame can easily become difficult to safely inspect because the space between frames becomes filled with excess comb, which makes it hard to avoid rolling bees. I'm checking somewhere around 1500 hives a year and I find that a box with the brood frames pushed tightly together, so that a frame can be removed with space on both sides, is a lot safer for the bees. I also see a lot of wild burr comb in hives with fewer brood frames. Beginning beekeepers, in particular, are still learning about the implications of bee space and what happens when it is violated, and boxes can get messy.
Furthermore, one less frame means the loss of a significant amount of room for brood, which can lead to issues with being honeybound and swarming.

you are absolutely right to experiment. think, try, if it works that's great. the important thing is to increase your production and grow your colonies. thank you for the great tip.

Kamon, you're right, that's a great way to get frames and bees for a mating nuc. P. S. You should tell Laurel that you were right!

Really enjoying this channel.

Is there an existing video talking about the different beekeeper things to do over summer/autumn/winter/spring?

I'm in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, so our southern hemisphere Summer is USA winter, plus our Summers are hot and winters mild. (No snow). But I'm expecting a lot of similarity for spring beekeeper activity.
