I’d add weddings to that list. Some of my friends have spent as much on their wedding as I did on a down payment for my house.

Last year was tough, but I still made $100, 000 as the main earner in my household. That's a good start, but I want to do even better. I have two auto loans and I'm looking for ways to pay them off without refinancing, which could cost more in the long run.

I’d add to this car insurance. When was the last time you shopped for rates? Do you need to adjust coverage based on current value of vehicle? Etc…

so, drive a used corolla, never get married, and don't buy anything where you can't pay off your credit card that same month

Normally I'd say never lease a car but my local Hyundai dealer has an Ioniq 5 for $220 a month after $3k down and trade in. Plus 2 years free charging. My commute is 9 miles round trip. It does include my $500 military discount.

If #2 is divorce, isn't #2 really marriage?

My friend just bought a new car this week for $60K at 7% interest. That means he must be paying like $1, 200 per month. Just for a CAR??? Crazy!! 🤦🏻

My parents lost so much from their divorce. If you're gonna get married, just have the ceremony and skip the legalities.

Car doesn’t necessary to be used, you could get a new car actually, but get the good one, not the premium brand one. This go as the same for “don’t be cheap on things you shouldn’t”

I’d say number one is a mortgage. It’ll wreck you

It’s crazy the amount of people that live above their means with fancy cars. I think it’s easy to justify without leasing and the math they try to do to confuse you but it’s so harmful to your future self.

if an asset goes down on the value and you know it. it's not called an asset, it's a liability

Texas and cars go together. Impossible to get across it without one. Speed limits 85.

Men, did you hear that? A divorce typically costs $20, 000. In addition to child support and alimony. Buyer beware.
