This is one of the only videos on Linear Factorization Theorem and by far the best one. Excellent explanation and great examples.

Mostly the same reasons as you. Wanted to provide video lessons for my students to review when they went home or missed class. Now I my motivation has shifted to creating material for students all over on the web. As I noticed my students preferred to watch lessons from other teachers on YouTube like you to. Happy to see others out there with the same passion.

You tell that teacher of yours to contact me about your grades and I'll tell him how much time you spend studying away from school! I don't understand how you can have a B with your study habits. Have you tried talking to him one on one? Thanks for giving me so much credit but YOU are the one who continues to work nights and weekends to improve your grade I'm just here to share my knowledge & occasional humor. Keep that positive attitude Ana, I'm here if you need help!

Man, I recently went back to school to take pre calculus and this video is life saver! We move fast through material in class that its difficult to go into this kind of detail. Also, the textbook does a particularly poor job explaining this concept. Thank you so much!

Bro, the way you explain this makes so much more sense to me than the way my professor taught it (Also, love the energy and the attention to time)!!

Professor RobBob, thank you for a basic lecture/video on Finding polynomials using the Linear Factorization Theorem. I hope students in Precalculus/College Algebra /Algebra Two continues to enjoy this excellent style of teaching.

After following the order of operations and combining all the numbers on the right side of the equation you will have -104=-17A. Divide both sides by -17 and you have 6.1.

I agree with blackRose2354 I am an honor student with straight A's and right now my math teacher is giving me a B. I try my best and when I go to class but the teacher seems always tired and with no motivation at all. When he gives examples on the board we end up correcting him and he don't even "apologize" he always says "oh yeah" that is so embarrassing. My frustration is getting bigger and bigger, but if it wasn't for Mr Tarrou I would be lost right now. Thank you so much professor!!!

It sounds like you need to watch Solving Higher Order Polynomials. Descartes' Rule of Signs can help minimize the trial and error a little, but there can still be a lot of trial and error with synthetic division to begin the factoring process.

I "do" see your point...but if you turn the negative in a positive, at least you "are" a great student who cares about your grade and you are putting in the extra time and work it takes to keep your grade high...and that my friend is what we call "great work ethic"! Just think of it as time to improve "your" future:) Feel free to tell her to personal message me on my Facebook fan page if she has any questions...thats the hardest part of a teachers intern program! And keep watching my videos:)

Work out the problem using long division. If you have a remainder of 0 then x+a is a factor.
