A sixteen yr old boy called Geron Candidate who went by the stage name Casper actually invented the move, he was a former dancer on the popular American program Soul Train, he called it the backslide and he personally taught Michael Jackson how to execute it. I saw a video a few years ago where Cab Calloway did a short Moonwalk during a live performance somewhere between late 1930s to 1040s. I can't find the video now so I supposed the guy who put up the video took it down because of Jackson fan harassment. As far as I'm concerned Bill Bailey got it from Cab Calloway
