I feel amazingly proud of each Historian and Ubisoft employee for adding this game mode! All those hours of hard work to develop something that makes Egyptian History much more entertaining is clearly amazing! Hopefully Ubisoft will continue to improve!

I remember the times back then when I had to write an essay about Italy during the renessaince times. I made the best essay in class, and all is thanks to Assassin's Creed 2, and Ezio's great story.
You can be proud Ubisoft, great job!

What initially lured me into the AC franchise (aside from awesome assassins) was the history that the games brought to life. To this day I still love wandering the streets in the different games, pausing to look at what all the NPCs are doing and how. I am overjoyed that the team behind AC Origins is now embracing their game as a learning tool. It is a wonderful idea, and I hope it will be used in future installments of the franchise as well!

When I was much younger I was fascinated with ancient Egypt - the Sphynx, specifcially, but I loved everything about the period. My 10-year old self would have lost his mind over this game. My current 52 year old self is still pretty excited. I am so happy this is a thing.

Assassins Creed Origins is by far the best game I have ever played! I am so sad that Curse of the Pharaohs is the last DLC Content coming to the game :(
Could you PLEASE make another or better many other DLCs? I would even appreciate it if they would not be included in SeasonPass

The greeks are the best part of the game, their cities are great, beautiful, epic!

It was great to see that Ubisoft represented this era of Egypt better than any series or movie ever made. Usually films and series shows Ptolomaic Egypt as if it were Egypt of the pharaohs, but by that time this Egypt already had finished, Ptolomaic Egypt was Egypt of the Greeks. The game is very clear on this, congratulations to Ubisoft.

Please do this for Brotherhood, I was showing my mom ancient Rome and where I've been and it was amazingly accurate even back then!

Thank you for releasing this as a standalone title, Ubi! I'm a little old for the core game grind but I love exploring virtual worlds and learning interesting bits of history as a bonus.

Thats what i loved about origions, its an amaazing place to discover things on and letting you experience things in your own way and pace. Something textbooks could never compare to.

All the DLC so far looks brilliant, hoping there is even more story expansion over the next year or so, I would love to see a DLC revolving around the ancient artefacts, I think Egypt is the perfect setting for it, the story would cover the assassins discovery of the 1st civilisation and the pieces of Eden, and the fight to control their power, you would be able to freely use various ancient technology weapons like the apple of eden, swords of eden, staffs, shields etc. Origins DLC is the perfect time to explore this, just like the curse of the pharaohs DLC, it's not historically accurate but the mythology and the gods are a big part of Egypts history so they made a DLC that gives a totally different experience to the game

Stunning, and a great use of media to make learning actually interesting for kids. Can I ask one question in relation to The Sphinx? Frank Domingo, a forensic scientist former Detective Sergeant of the NY Police force, reconstructed the face in the same way he would do in his job, concluding with a face which is clearly that of a sub-Saharan black African.
Similarly an orthodontist Sheldon Peck came to the same conclusion, that the face of the Sphinx was a black African, not native to Egypt until much further back than the date of 4, 500yrs, to possibly much earlier. There are Zulu stories about the time that the Zulu did live in northern Africa, but migrated south when the climate changed from tropical to desert.

There are also stories about The Sphinx mutilation being caused by 'Mohammed Sa'im al-Dahr, a "fanatical sufi of the oldest and most highly respected sufi convent of Cairo." The nose and ears are mentioned specifically as having been damaged at this time. According to one account, Haarmann states, the residents in the neighborhood of the Sphinx were so upset by the destruction that they lynched him and buried him near the great monument he ruined' - Excerpt taken from an article by Ulrich Haarmann, "Regional Sentiment in Medieval Islamic Egypt, " published in the University of London's Bulletin Of The School Of Oriental And African Studies (BSOAS), vol.43 (1980) p.55-66.

I know this might be a bit overkill. People might say 'it's just a game'. But with this new explore feature it is not 'just a game'. This is history. This is worth knowing. So my question: did you get The Sphinx's face wrong? Was it, in today's definition, the face of a sub-Saharan black African?
Just an additional bit of information to close this; the body of the Sphinx shows signs of extremely high rainfall erosion. This could also mean it is far older that the current date of 4, 500yrs. This is research done by Robert M. Schoch, an American associate professor of Natural Sciences at the College of General Studies, Boston University. Along with the author Graham Hancock, they make some very interesting theories about The Sphinx; speculating originally it could even have had a lion's head, and the head being re-sculpted to what it is today.

Overall though, I think you did an excellent job on this game. I'm going to buy it right now!

I want to talk about the statement at 2:49 for a while.

"Cause when we teach, we try to get them immersed" ~ Historian Teacher

Well, no. You don't. I do not mean necessarily you. I have been to great schools. My parents paid money so I could get better educated. I thank them and I admit I was very lucky.
In my times I have passed over 6-7 Historians who were also philologists.

History was the worst subject in school and for a good reason. It was BORING. You never tried to immerse kids. You wanted kids to remember fricking dates. Who cares about dates? you will forget about it eventually. What matters is facts.

Personally I know more about what happened 2000 years than what happened 50-100 years ago. Well gee thanks professor know that I know how Jeff died by Sarah in 1346 B.C. I can keep on with my life not knowing why everyone is at debt or how country relations were formed.

You are boring. You dont try. You dont take kids to museums. This subject should be done with videos. Pictures and powerpoints with NO PARAGRAPHS on each slide. Intrigue them. Make the students wake up from this mess called school.

I hate this hypocrisy. You dont try to get them immersed, you try to make them remember dates within facts. That's no teaching.

This is very interesting. The next step would be to develop a game with this concept as starting point. Also in order to take out the artistic liberty which can be misleading for the players who rely a bit too much on the game for historical knowledge.
