Other cancer survivors asked me all the time…🤔🥺

➡️What do you think took you to five years cancer free?!

Obviously there’s a lot of factors that play a role here, but I have to say that the most important piece to my cancer recovery and staying in remission was…

💪🏻Strength training.💪🏻

🚨Let me break this down so you can do the same. 📢Save this post for later. You’re gonna want to come back to us.📢

Strength training doesn’t have to be complex. It doesn’t have to involve heavy weights – unless you want to.

So many women find strength training to be unapproachable. It’s intimidating. They don’t know where to start. Let me give you three simple steps right here.

🏋🏼‍♀️Short training sessions

Strength training sessions don’t need to be an hour long. Start today while you’re watching TV, every time does a commercial break, do bodyweight squats in front of the TV. We are talking about 2 to 3 minutes at a time. Short and sweet

🗣Use your body weight only.

Strength training does not have to include anything but your body weight. Overtime as you improve, and you gain the muscle, you’ll need to add in weights. But for now start with just your bodyweight.

😁Do the movements you enjoy.

If you hate doing upper body work, then don’t do it. Start with the movements or exercises that you enjoy. If you want to work on getting great glutes for the beach or Kelly Ripa arms, start there. If you love doing push-ups with your kiddo on your back, that’s great too.

🔑Strength training is key to helping prevent a cancer occurrence. The combination of cardio with strength training is what can reduce your risk of a cancer occurrence by half. Actually over half! A 59% reduction if you hit target strength training levels.

It’s the statistic that keeps me pushing forward, that keeps me strength training. If I can lower my risk by more than half. I’m showing up for that.🙌🏻🙌🏻

If you’ve tried to start strength training in the past and just simply don’t know how to start or can’t stick with it, im here to help!

As a cancer recovery expert, cancer survivor, and former team Canada athlete, I can show you how step by step.
