After YEARS Waiting.. Aion 2 is coming

Aion 2 is releasing Globally.

7 years ago I did a video on Aion 2. 7 whole years ago.
Back in 2017, NCSoft had an idea for the game. They claimed it was being built utilizing Unreal Engine 4 - at the time, not a bad engine to be developing an MMO in. They promised a large emphasis on PvPvE, much like its predecessor Aion had, allowing players to participate in what they referred to as "Dimensional cracks," a type of cross-server wars.
However, the faction based warfare between the Elyos and Asmodian's was no longer going to be present. Factions were removed in their entirety - with players being free to choose their race without repercussions. This meant you'd see both Asmodian and Elyos players partied - which admittedly, to me, sounds a little bit confusing.

Also unique to the 2017 vision for Aion 2 was the complete removal of classes. No more Gladiator. No more Ranger. No more Spellcaster. Their belief was that "class segmentation" was too limiting, and they wanted to offer players more freedom to play what and how they wanted.
With this in mind, players would be given the option of wielding any weapon, with the ability to change weapon styles, and thus utility, on the fly. Aion 2, to accommodate this new class-less system, would have an entirely new battle system that was not present in the original iteration of Aion.
Aion 2 was also confirmed to be releasing exclusively on Mobile. But don't close the video quite yet - in 2023, 6 years later, it was revealed that this was no longer the case and they made substantial alterations to the game to cater to the PC player audience. But does that mean the game will be better, or worse?
And what else changed over that 7 year period? That's what we're here to discuss.

Old Aion was a wild ride. It'll never be like that again.

Aion was such a great game. The game couldnt find balance though. There were way more Elyos on the servers than asmodians. Not to mention that everyone was using Aionscript and whatever other hack. Walking out in a group and getting walked over by hackers was a huge downfall for the game. I tried aion classic. And that was great until the hacking resurfaced. The players made it obvious they were hacking. Names like Cheat and Ihack in a guild of 1 player with more millions of more AP than the top PVP guilds. Aion 2 sounds good but the team mismanages the franchise.

I still occasionally watch their Aion 3.0 trailer. Because, to this day, NO game has yet achieved the claims in that trailer lol

If Aion 2 is good for two years, before NCsoft destroys it as usual... I will still play it. Two years of good gameplay is better than none, and good memories go a long way.

The more I see stuff about Aion (or for that matter Aion2), I want to play it again... however I'll never touch it again if gameforge or ncsoft is publishing it...

00:43 facts NCsoft forced on BnS plus other games from their company and didn't update anything on Aion at all, we had to sit back and watch other games from NCsoft get new and approved shiny things. That's one of the ways they messed up any small updated would of been appreciated. Aion could benefit from the PVP options like BnS if you had on PVP gear while questing. Maybe a new team dedicated just to Aion itself like GW2 would help a lot. I would apply to work there if I would be heard and could help out. Oh and when it does come out we need Buster Glad GM back for Asmos NA version

It was an awesome game when it was first released after that it went downhill fairly quick. I don't play mmo's anymore but i do check in from time to time if i see anything interesting. Looks like nothing's changed.

selecting class IS a freedom, and also gives players some sort of pride of being that class, especially for hardcore roleplayers -_-

Aion was great especially visually I'd like to see a console port as it's not a very technical game

Hearing this news makes me sad. I've played Aion for years! Started in closed Beta. Seeing it fall so hard hurt. Hearing Aion 2 was coming I was happy. Then heard it was a mobile game... F NCSoft. But after hearing this... NCsoft, Please stop.

I hate crossplatforming mobile & Pc. It will always limit down the Pc version, so it can run on a basic 300$ consumer phone.
Not specificly graphics but also alot of content wise mechanics. Cant wait to have 4 skills in total to use on the Pc version, because u cant put in more into the mobile version😂

Maybe Aion3 in 2040, copium.😢
