The Flagship Phone for Budget Prices - LG V60 ThinQ 5G - Worth it in 2023? (Real World Review)

Today I will be reviewing the LG V60 ThinQ 5G, the last flagship phone that LG actually made. All this phone for under $200, what's the catch?

Note, I didn't mention the Pen support and Dual Screen. The dual screen is way too much, just get a Fold2/3 at that price. The Pen is debatable though, and I will post links to buy a pen for the V60 below.

I went from an V20 to aV40 to a V60. Still have all of these phones in perfect condition. Honestly not sure what I will do once I am forced to upgrade I've totally gotten every penny I invested into my LGV60. Everyone always complements my photos as an added bonus.

This is a beast of a phone. I underestimated its potential. Excellent battery life, (2days), pro camera, solid build, amoled screen, excellent haptics, one of the best speakers I've ever heard on a phone. Very underrated phone.

LG flagships still absolutely Blow Away any current device in the audio department. When you combine the quad DAC with those insane microphones and the manual support in the cameras it's a different ballgame. Nevermind expandable storage. The Raw capabilities are simply a bonus. If you have a vehicle with an auxiliary 3.5 Port that quad DAC generates a whole different experience

My beloved headphone jackand sd card slot with a flagship processor. Don't give a shit about cameras it has which can take occasional pictures and take pictures of documents I am more than happy.

I'm really going to miss LG. I hate Samsung phones with a passion. I wish people didn't just buy the same brands all the time. Now we're down to two brand for flagships? Ridiculous. LG come back...

I have the LG V60...but I got the S22 Ultra back in March 2022...As of February 2023 I decided to move back to my old LG v60 for a few reasons...

1. The LG V60 still has better battery life, I get consistent 8-9 hours screen on time. Compared to the s22 Ultra that gives me 5-6 hours, and thats on FHD+ and 60hz setting.

2. I still prefer photos taken on the V60. The S22 Ultra have to much saturation in colors and dont have Ultra Wide Correction. Also shutter lag on the S22 Ultra is anoying and its an expensive phone to have that problem.

3. The V60 still has more powerful speakers compared to the weaker s22 Ultra.

4. I got a 1TB Sandisk Ultra Pro SD card for cheap that I put in my V60.

But using the s22 Ultra for about 11 months then jumping back to the V60, I actually like the more natural colors on the V60. And going down from 1440p screen to a 1080p screen isn't really noticeable to me.

So heck yeah...the LG V60 is totally worth it!!!

Just got android 13 today. This phone is still the best value as far as phones. And much more qualified reviewers gave complemented LGs cameras for giving photographers and editors a nice raw product to work with. And the DAC pretty much puts it in a class of its own. And that's before we even mention the dual screen capability, which is more valuable than 120 hz refresh rate. Don't like the UI, then put Nova launcher on it and make it your own. Three years later and I personally cannot justify buying another phone. Battery life is still good and the water resistance is still solid. It just won't quit. It's built so well that after 3 years it's still immaculate. A Galaxy or an iPhone or a Pixel would have degraded after three years of constant use. But not this.

Regardless of the phone capabilities of this phone, it's still a good buy to be used as a dedicated audio player. With the SD card I can store large high quality flac files and enjoy music with some nice wired headphones.

The best part is that it received Android 13 (T-Mobile), has the Quad DAC headphone jack (try it with some quality wired headphones) and the dual screen accessory (a multitasking beast). I've expanded mine to 1tb)... the Huawei or Bamboo pen work really well so kudos for pen support and DEX. Those are the reasons why you buy one (I just finished paying off my carrier). The screen was that resolution to have identical screens for the dual display that don't chew battery. Fingerprint scanner and camera improved significantly with Android 13. Your 64mp pics are great!

The good: 5g, fast processing, screen colors are delightful, amazing audio via headphone cable, sd card, stable operating system.

The bad: heavy really heavy, battery does not charge fast enough, drains quick just by reading or browsing the Internet, the bezel can be annoying.

I would still buy another, is worth it but for $125 no more than that.

My LG G8 was defective and LG replaced it with a new V60. Have had it for 3 years and it's been perfect.

I use my phone hard. I often charge my phone to 100%, use it plugged-in and the battery life is still superb. I purchased a genuine OEM LG BL-T46 battery for $22, and a USB-C port/board/ribbon for $21...just in case. Installation will cost about $70 when the time comes. That's how much I love this phone.

The 865 processor stays cool, never overheats, and is fast. I'm not a gamer so it's just fine for me. The 32-bit Hi-Fi QuadDAC is outrageous. If you use wired headphones, the difference in sound quality is night and day. Oh, good luck trying to find a flagship today with a 3.5mm jack and expandable storage...unless you want to spend $1, 000+ on a Sony Xperia.

Barring damage, I can easily see using the LG V60 for another 5 years. It's at Android 13 now, so that should be it in terms of updates, although I expect security patches for another 2 years.

Love love love my LG60 ThinQ after 4 years ♥️💦♥️💦 my 2nd one just arrived from ebay, bought for $200 + free shipping. Can't imagine life without my dual screen which has protected my phone with numerous drops a day 😁 LQ should never have shut down their phone division. This phone is pure GOLD still in August 2024 ✨💛✨
