In India field corn is also used like sweat corn only thing they don't taste sweat. They are boiled adding salt. For eating the corn is harvested earlier. So it stay tender. In tribal areas they are harvested in the field cooked in direct fire and they eat

I think it's funny how many people think feed corn is sweet corn. I can sometimes find popcorn fields here in southwest Michigan.

What happens to the cobb itself after the kernals are removed? DO they get wasted, or put into use somehow as well?
