The Power Rangers reboot is a long shot and in order to succeed they must get almost everything right from the first attempt. Many fans have talked about the comic book stories and the producers of the reboot should take ideas from those same stories.

Power Rangers is an American television series and franchise of the tokusatsu genre, version of Super Sentai Series, a Japanese television series of the same genre. It has been broadcast since 1993. From 2002 to 2009, the franchise was owned by The Walt Disney Company, but was reacquired in 2010 by Haim Saban, its creator and original driving force between Mighty Morphin and Wild Force (the latter created early in production before the sale of Saban Entertainment to Disney). On May 1, 2018, it was confirmed that the franchise was bought by Hasbro.

The last movie franchise failed because they aimed for a different target audience with a darker tone a high budget movie franchise probably isn't sustainable, a mid budget TV series like the CW Universe with a light hearted tone is the most likely best option we're going to get unfortunately.

Power Rangers (and sentai) had the potential to be really dark, almost horror.

MMPR, if they let Zedd continue as he was, then the series would have taken a dark turn. A being capable of serious evil, allowing his minions to kill civilians and order the deaths of Rangers and see it done, no waiting for plot armour to kick in.

Dairanger adaptation could be written around a Chi focused horror story, the monsters and minions taking the lives of civilians and Rangers alike to sustain their own (which causes Chi sucking undead out of victims), causing an apocalypse event.

SPD and Time Force: monsters murdering past Rangers in a special series event that links to an overall story.

Dino Charge: a story focused on the horrors of humans dealing with dinosaurs, more so when the zords take the sides of the dinosaurs.

These can either be used after Once and Always or be used within the new universe as a special.

After the Cosmic Fury suits, I don't trust PR suit makers when given freedom, so having Sentai to fall back on, even to make an anthology series while given strict rules to follow about OG suits, if the suits are physical over CGI.

The sentai suits should retain the iconic looks while being upgraded, with OG suits firdt being sketched following the classic design, then upgraded.
