TalkTV's Julia Hartley-Brewer blasts UN Secretary-General António Guterres over his comments on the Israel-Hamas war.

Israel has called for his resignation, slamming his “shocking” and “horrible” remarks.

Guterres said it was “important to recognise” Hamas’s attacks did not happen “in a vacuum” and that Palestinians had been subject to 56 years of “suffocating occupation”.

Julia says: “The man is an idiot anyway. He’s the man who thinks the biggest threat to the world is climate change!”

The media coverage of this war made it easier for me to have an opinion on future events: the harder they push for a side to take, the higher probability that it's the wrong one.

Why doesn't Israel JUST WITHDRAW from UN? The UN is a place where all countries have autonomy. There is freedom of expression. There is freedom of thought. There is freedom of opinion. At the UN, a country does not have the right to demand that another country agree with it. Therefore, if Israel does not think that the UN serves its interests, it is up to Israel to withdraw from the UN and not ask anyone to withdraw or resign. This is called democracy.
Israel can put WORDS in the US' mouth but not in the 193 mouths.

Jews hatred for Palestinians is only rivaled by the hatred of Jews by Germany in WWII. How did that worked out?

Guterres is 100% correct if we look at his speech as a whole for understanding the overall context and just pieces of words as twisted by Israeli Ambassador to suit to their pernicious purposes. Period.

Israelis are acting "restrained"??? And the cynicism of this person is simply terrible.

Guterres' remarks were absolutely correct. I especially liked his remark that the Hamas attack did not happen in a vacuum. It's a pity he did not elaborate more on this point. He could have pointed to
the murders of 250 Palestinians in the West Bank this year prior to the October 7 attack. He could have mentioned the accelerated pace of the stealing of Palestinian land this year, the demolition of Palestinian homes, schools and other civilian infrastructure. He could have referred to the murders of Palestinian journalists, attacks on Palestinian ambulancemen, worshippers in mosques and even mourners at funerals. He could have talked about what happened when Palestinians held a Right to Return (to their original land and homes) March some years ago and how Israel's thugs and uniform responded by shooting dead more than 220 unarmed marchers. These events also show how ridiculous is the claim made in this video that Israel has acted with amazing restraint and gone to great lengths to minimise civilian casualties.

When Tibetan monks protest, they burn themselves, they never hurt anybody. That is what I call "the peace of religion". We forget that it is each person's responsibility to act/react at any situation. Atrocity is atrocity, no excuse for it. UN joined to play a blaming game, I am not surprised. Just educate ourselves with the Empty boat story.

There is a Buddhist story about a monk who wants to find a quiet place to meditate. After failing to find a quiet enough spot, he decides to get in a boat and go out onto the lake. No one else was around so he was sure he would finally be able to have some peace and quiet to meditate.

Then, out of nowhere, he feels something hit his boat. He opens his eyes — furious — and says, “Who disturbed me while I was meditating?!” He was livid that someone would crash into him like that. He was ready to really let this person have it.

The other boat, the one that had hit his, was empty.

What do we learn from this story? Well, I learned that every time I get angry at something outside of me — a person, situation, circumstance — it is not that thing that is what is “making” me angry. It is me doing that. Those are all just empty boats. The anger was already in me, ready at a moment’s notice — or the bump of a boat — to come out, ready for a fight.

A famous Australian plumber, Gandolf Hisstler, wrote in his book, My Scrubber, about his experience when arguing with Zionists that were trying to undermine his country:
"The more I argued with them, the better I came to know their dialectic. First they counted on the stupidity of their adversary, and then, when there was no other way out, they themselves simply played stupid. If all this didn't help, they pretended not to understand, or, if challenged, they changed the subject in a hurry, quoted platitudes which, if you accepted them, they immediately related to entirely different matters, and then, if again attacked, gave ground and pretended not to know exactly what you were talking about. Whenever you tried to attack one of these apostles, your hand closed on a jelly-like slime which divided up and poured through your fingers, but in the next moment collected again. But if you really struck one of these fellows so telling a blow that, observed by the audience, he couldn't help but agree, and if you believed that this had taken you at least one step forward, your amazement was great the next day. The Zionist had not the slightest recollection of the day before, he rattled off his same old nonsense as though nothing at all had happened, and, if indignantly challenged, affected amazement; he couldn't remember a thing, except that he had proved the correctness of his assertions the previous day.
Sometimes I stood there thunderstruck. I didn't know what to be more amazed at: the agility of their tongues or their virtuosity at lying.
Is this not what you experience when you argue with Zionists
