Did Jeff Bezos and Blue Origin LOSE? | Fast Forward

This Tuesday, Blue Origin launched their first manned, unpiloted rocket, New Shepard. After almost a decade of testing prototypes for the New Shepard Rocket, Bezos and Blue Origin finally achieved their goal of sending an unpiloted crew to the outer reaches of the Earth's atmosphere.

This comes days after Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic sent their first manned venture into space. They differ in many regards, so who really won? Bezos’ mission was unpiloted and achieved a higher elevation, while Branson’s made it first, and did so in a more eloquent manner.

The crew included Jeff Bezos (Founder of Amazon), Mark Bezos (Jeff’s Brother), Wally Funk (Female Aviator and Astronaut), and Oliver Daemen (Dutch Teenager). This flight set two crew records - making both the youngest (18) and oldest (82) astronauts ever with Oliver and Wally, respectively.
