Is This The BEST Saw Blade Ever? / Freud Premier Fusion

Getting good quality table saw cuts is significant to woodworkers who consider themselves to be serious about their woodworking and what they are making which is often boxes, picture frames, and quality furniture like chairs, tables, cabinets, and benches. We have often relied on high-quality dedicated cross-cutting and ripping blades for these purposes. Still, anyone who has seen the quality of cuts you can get from the Freud Premier Fusion, General Purpose blade can quickly change their mind. If you are constantly swapping blades in your table saw, you will definitely want to look at this blade. Imagine a blade that is good as the best ripping and crossing blades, but you never have to change the Freud blade, that's the kind of quality you can expect, clean saw blade cuts with virtually no tear-out, chipping of wood fiber loss, truly the next generation in saw blades from Freud tools.

I cut melamine every day with Freud blades on a table saw and on a chop saw, and I can say that the blade will always do well at first, however within a short time it will be dull enough to chip out the "bottom" melamine, and only with a sacrificial board can you be assured of a clean cut. This is why most cabinets are cut on CNC router tables with sacrificial MDF sheets under the melamine. When I need a clean cut on both sides I might use a sacrificial piece or sometimes I use a track saw since that can also get pretty good clean cuts on both sides. Melamine is tough on saw blades and the glues and resins they bind the wood together with aren't great either. Just my two cents.

I bought my first Freud blade 10 years ago & they're all I use. Awesome quality & performance. Good video Colin.

If it had some flat-top rakers, this would be the one blade to run them all

Been using these for year's, brilliant blade's, and very clean cut.
They re-sharpen very well too and they stay cleaner longer 🙂

One reason Diablo blades are so good is they ARE made by Freud. Actually Bosch owns both the Freud and Diablo brands. While Freud is normally rated as the best in price range, and rightfully so, Diablo is just a little bit lower in quality and price range. Keep in mind, BOTH are high quality tools and well worth the price. Comparing these two brands of the same type/style blades, will show the results are nearly identical.
Thanks for another GREAT video. As always, you present a load of educational information.

Also a fan of the brand. Work in metal cutting aluminum for windows, and all we use is ONLY Freud blades.

Love that blade. It's been my go-to for many years. Just bought my second after several resharpenings of the original. An absolute bargain as well.

Agreed on the comment as to needing some flat top raker teeth. Does look like a great blade. Like you, my two main blades are the Freud 90 TC Ross cut and their glue-line rip

Typically with melamine I have to do a scoring cut first then raise he blade for a second cut. This blade gets thumbs up in single pass melamine. 👍🏼👍🏼

Impressive blade but I really would have liked to have seen a comparison with, say, the oft recommended (by you, too, I believe) Diablo 60 tooth combination blade.

Very informative and much appreciated. That being said, I don't understand the constant harping on the cost. If it were $650, sure. If you can't afford $65 then woodworking probably isn't for you. If people are complaining to you about high prices it's time for them to grow up. The price of goods isn't on you. 😀

I've been telling people about this blade whenever there is interest in woodworking and I will say it again: this is really the best single blade you can get. It's literally an "upgrade" for any table saw that doesn't have one. Forget about those boutique blades that keep getting recommended by youtubers trying to do a favor for their buddies who sell crappy blades... Freud Industrial makes good blades and other cutting tools in general but this Premier Fusion is really going to be the last blade you buy for your table saw. I use the P410T which is the thin-kerf version. You will be able to make precise cuts in any kind of wood. It stays crazy sharp for so long, that even though the initial price is higher it will keep going whereas cheaper blades would have had to have been replaced or resharpened...and there's enough meat on the teeth to resharpen the P410T when it finally does need it (mine 5+ years still sharp as new and I've cut many feet of wood in that time).

I agree. I just bought the Freud dado stack. I’m going to do a video comparing it to the harbor freight stack.

I tripped my Sawstop break yesterday by hitting a piece of metal (not a finger). I may give this blade a try after the new break arrives.
