If you go to Venice, the battle of Lepanto is still well remembered. Spanish took the leadership in the battle because John of Austria was the son of the holy roman emperor. Otherwise the leadership would have been certainly venetian. They were the most experienced seamen out of everyone in the roster and most of all, the most experienced on fighting turks alongside the hospitallers and Genoa. Some prominent venetians leaders died with honor that day

To all of you who don't get how important this battle was and how many people got involved. This is the equivelant of Avengers Endgame for the medieval times. This and the battle of Vienna basically killed the Ottoman Empire. One of, if not the last, great empire that could have destroyed Christianity. Think about that. This is also one of the last great medieval battles.
