Well it is true that Moldova and Romania exchanged 12 points quite a few times over the years, but I would rather say this is not for political reasons in most of the cases. When you have two countries that share a past, a language, the traditions it is quite obvious that having a song in Romanian which is based on common folk motifs is more likely to be understood and appreciated by the people of the two countries more than by anyone else. Understanding the lyrics and the underlaying hidden meaning plays a huge role.
