no, not Leeds surprisingly! This week I popped to Lisbon to see if it's really as perfect as people say, what do you reckon? Would appreciate you checking to see if you're subbed, getting close to the big one now, cheers!

Been watching your videos for the best part of two years, just watched an adult man order a hot chocolate as a serious breakfast drink, and cut a croissant with a knife and fork.

Ed's videos are great, guaranteed to never learn anything as he seems to do zero research or have no knowledge whatsoever of anywhere he goes

I only subscribed to continue my addiction to getting offended by the way Ed eats, feels like it should be tuned into a drinking game 🤣🤣🤣keep on doing you Ed.

First of all, glad you enjoyed my Lisbon!
Second, good point in the end, Lisbon is beautiful, and it's a sightseeing city. Not that much of an activity city. It's gigantic, it has a lot to see, and we had 1 day on this video. You had loads of good stuff to see.
Third, some clarifications on stuff to help other tourists: use the bus to go to the castle hill. Forget the tram n.º 28. It's filled to the brim and you get nothing more than an expensive trip on a rail vehicle. Come down walking or in a bus. Don't use tuk tuks, it's unnecessary. Very expensive, and a bus does the same route. Walk! Lisbon is full of hills, but is very fun to walk. Eat in portuguese places. Most of the restaurants downtown are tourist traps (Ed made 3 not so good choices in this video; if the Pharmacy Museum was open, it would be a good choice). Where Ed ate his breakfast, on the roundabout there was Padaria Portuguesa. Althrough it is a trap itself, it has more portuguese stuff and you can enjoy our food. There are great restaurants downtown, and with the same money that you'd spend on tourist traps, you can eat Portuguese and good. Examples are "Solar dos Presuntos", "Churrasqueira Bonjardim", and there are others. Try to google the name. If it's old, it's good.
About the places Ed visited: the yellow lift you saw is not the traditional tram. That's Gloria's Lift, a public transportation from the late 1800's, to bring people from the bottom to the top of the hill. Ed was thinking of the trams, like the 28, that depart from Martim Moniz. I say, it's not worth it. It's just a rail vehicle, and buses do the same trip. About Castelo de São Jorge, it's a forteress from medieval times, but it was rebuilt during Estado Novo (our dictatorial period from the 30s till 1974), and it was not very well done, in an historical perspective. It's good that's preserved and it has a great view, but is not the best palace example we have.
Last, come to Lisbon, but respect our city. Eat in tradicional places, don't buy tat from the souvenir shops downtown. Enjoy Lisbon, but dont pull a tourist!

Lisbon is an amazing city, I went there in November for Arsenals CL game vs Sporting Lisbon. You need to spend more than a day looking around though. You missed the port area and Time out, which is a food court with just about every cuisine going including traditional Portugese. If you visit Lisbon, you need to have their custard tarts they are the best in the world.

The Santa Justa tower which you lost patience in the queue is worth going up, and the bizarre thing Lisbon is such a hilly city that when you go to the top of the tower you walk along a pathway and you are in another district much higher up than the base of the tower.

Cost wise its one of the most cheap places to visit in Europe, I was drinking cocktails for the same price as a beer in the UK. Pints are around 5 euros.

Love all these videos abroad but I'd be interested in seeing you react to the "posh" places around Leeds too! Places like Harrogate, Knaresborough, Hebden Bridge, York. See how they compare to Leeds. Are they worth visiting or a load of pretentious carry on.

I love your lack of interest in things, it’s hilarious. Was looking forward to the views from the lift, but an extra half hour wait… nah bin that off 😂
