Formula Renault 3.5 Series - Silverstone - Race 1

Tio Ellinas (Strakka Racing) has won the first race of the weekend for the Formula Renault 3.5 Series at Silverstone. On Saturday, the Cypriot claimed his first pole position and victory in the category. It is also the first triumph for his team since Will Stevens at Jerez last year. Oliver Rowland (Fortec Motorsports) and Matthieu Vaxiviere (Lotus) completed the podium. The Racing Steps Foundation driver now has a 29-point lead over the Lotus F1 Team Junior protégé. 2014 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 champion and member of the McLaren Young Driver Development Programme, Nyck de Vries (DAMS) finished fourth and was the highest placed rookie on the day.

ey Renault - we went to see this race and we cheered on Oliver Rowland.  My kids absolutely loved these cars- please don't ever wreck them with hybrid electrically assisted technology.
