You are the first applicant to withdraw their application out of consideration for other applicants. My son's school has a moto, non sibi (not for self), and it is an unwritten rule that if you are accepted early to a school with a 10% or less acceptance rate, you will matriculate. My son got into Harvard in December and immediately pulled his Michigan application so he wouldn't get in the way of his classmates and other applicants. With the increasing competitiveness of each admission cycle, I wish more students had your character. People applying to Ivies and T20 schools usually have an idea of where they want to go...I see it as clout chasing when they apply to schools just to see if they can get in.
