Thank you so much Jenny for this lovely pattern. I just finished it and I love it.
I did the crown with a 5mm crochet hook, then rows 1-5 of the shellfish with 6mm and, seeing that it was slightly too small, rows 6-7 and brim with a 7mm crochet hook.
It fits perfectly and looks great. 😀Pity we can’t add a picture.

I found this video very helpful bc there were some steps (e.g. chain 'x' or slip here) missing in the written portion. I have to admit I was so frustrated at the beginning because I don't normally crochet this loosely, but I will now be adding it to my technique arsenal because this was a quick workup and came out gorgeous! I did use a 6mm crochet hook instead of a 3mm (tightly crocheted the magic circle top then loose for the rest) and it's the perfect size. Overall, great project to switch things up, thanks!!!

how many shells are in each round? I've started this pattern over 3 different times and still can't seem to get right. The written pattern and video don't seem to match up. TIA
