Guys, Tom Heaton is using Z7II and seems to be quite impressed with the Z system... If possible, he can be invited to the show. 🌹🙌🏻

I feel even the full frame sensors like the 45mp in the z7ii struggle with high iso noise comparatively to the z6ii… i just got back from a short trip doing some shooting, and it has confirmed to me how much better the 24mp sensor is in low light, my subjects were moving, lit with a not bright light and i only had the 24-70 kit lens with me… the z6ii even while shooting 8000 iso to keep the shutter speed over 1/640th the finished files are beautiful, if i had my z7ii i would not have had anything but noise to work with… so hoping the z6iii has the new tracking stuff from z9 but i really hope they keep around that 24mp sweet spot… anything more just isnt as good no matter how much you compress the files down or anything… would love a similar camera to the Canon r3 with a z mount✌️

I would like to see a Nikon D500 mirrorless replacement between 26-32 mp, 15-20 fps, the Z9 focus system for under $3, 000 US dollars. I will note that if Nikon releases the Z8 with more than a 60 mp sensor at $4, 500 or less, a mirrorless D500 becomes pointless because you could just use the Z8 in DX mode.

I am waiting for the 85 1.2 as well. The Tamron 70-300 will plug the other gap, for me, until Nikon release one. Though not for me the wide angle DX might be welcome as well.

200-600 is definitely needed and definitely way overdue

Nikon will announce a gimbal for their Z6 series that automatically centers/ balances itself based on the Z lens attached. Also KeyMission 360 II😁.

Still waiting for a 70-200 f4, had to buy the 2.8, but would love the f4 for travel along with my 24-70 f4 and 14-30 f4. 105 is fantastic, as are the 20 and 50 1.8s. 400 f4.5 on order, this year I hope. Another great podcast, thankyou.

Going the GFx route with the 100s and a 45-100 to start with, for my general photography.

Give us a Nikon Z6C
A Z6III sensor with 16bit raw video up to 6k, 16+ stops of dynamic range, with internal electronic ND, full XLR, full HDMI or SDI port, V-mount battery, lots of mounting points, detachable monitor, Z9 autofocus

A 40 Mp AP-C camera makes sense for Fuji because the X mount can't accommodate a full frame sensor. For Nikon there is no need because if you want the resolution, you can get a full frame body, which will retain the low light capability. If you are upgrading from DX you have to change the light weight DX lenses, but Fuji say not all their lenses will resolve the 40Mp.
To work out the pixel density equivalent of an FX sensor you multiply the DX pixels by 9 and divide by 4 so the density is the same as an FX camera of 90 Mp, that's a very high density. FX being 24mm by 36, DX being near enough 24 by 16; divide both by 24 * 4 to get the 9 / 4 ratio.

Thank you for bringing up the patent being filed more than a year after RED showed the camera AND took PER-ORDERS/SOLD before the patent was filed in accordance with US PATENT LAWS.

Just want to mention a few things about Kodak. So many internet articles and comments on photo forums all have simplified the story to the point of being almost fantasy. I'll mention a few things and then people can decide whether or not the usual story of how Kodak missed the boat with digital because they were so slow to move, and so sure of the continued success of film, and that caused there demise. People often joke about the fact that the first Digital camera was indeed invented by a Kodak employee, but that was in 1975, long before any actual consumer digital cameras were produced. When digital became a reality, Kodak invested billions to develop a range of digital cameras.
The first commercially available DSLR was made by Kodak (the Kodak DCS) in 1991.
The first commercially available Canon DSLRs were rebranded Kodak DCS series 500 DSLRs.
When Canon and Nikon began making their own line of DSLRs, Kodak transitioned to making more point and shoot digital cameras and by 2004, they were no 1 in the US in sales.
They remained no. 1 in US digital camera sales in 2005 and were #3 in worldwide sales.
In 2006, they fell to 3rd in US digital camera sales, mainly due to the increased number of DSLRs being sold as Canon and Nikon start introducing affordable DSLRs. They are still 3rd in digital sales worldwide.
Greatly increased competition in point and shoots from other manufacturers and increased DSLR sales begin to erode Kodak market share in 2006. In 2006, camera phones surpassed sales of both digital and film cameras for the first time.
So, the real facts are that Kodak made the first commercially available DSLRs, made the first Canon DSLRs, and by 2004 and 2005 led the US in digital camera sales and were 3rd worldwide in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Again, you can decide if you think Kodak was too slow to act on digital camera technology.

I love the fact that Sasson’s camera appears to record to cassette - imagine the download speed of a 20Mp image using that technology 😂. Great work guys.

I would love to see some more of the lenses on the road map be announced like the 26mm pancake, the 85 1.2 and the 12-28mm dx ...and also the 200-600 ... But I would also love to see an updated roadmap! With new mysterious lenses to tease us for the coming years 2023, 2024, 2025 ... About cameras I hope for developing announcement for a "Z8" (or what they will call it?) a D850 replacement that people will not complain about ... And a DX Z90, the D500 replacements on steroids, it could even use the Z9 body ... no shutter etc. :)

And off course. version 2.0 of the firmware for Z6II and Z7II! :)

I heard a month ago that Z6 was discontinued, and only available in existing stock. For Red vs Nikon? Red is a patent troll. It would have been like Ford copyrighting 4 wheeled vehicles with internal combustion engine, or IBM copyrighting computers using Integrated Circuit chips when everyone else was using paper punch cards.

20 MP might be the sweet spot for DX sensors as going north tends to be a poor performer in low light. The Nikon D7000/5100 had the 16 MP sensor which gives it the same pixel size as the D750. More pixels doesn't make it better.
