North Forney student saves another student from choking

North Forney High School senior Gustavo Rubio knew something was wrong. He recognized another student was choking and performed the Heimlich maneuver, a skill he learned from his time as a volunteer with Rockwall Fire and Rescue.

As soon as the hero kid looks over and sees him fall he raced to him. Amazing. I love this. Glad he was saved.

Kudos to that student for actually doing it correctly. Just like CPR, the heimlich isn't always gentle but people are often afraid to use the force needed

If that is a teacher like we all believe it is, they didn’t even make an attempt to move quickly. They should not be caring for children if they can’t recognize or don’t care about an obvious emergency in progress.

Such a scary thing, thank god that student is alive and well, choking has always been my biggest fear and I'm more than happy that someone saved him

The smartest kid in our school had this happen back in 8th grade and he threw himself on the ground over and over to try and spit it up, my principal thought he was doing pushups in the middle of lunch and started laughing. LAUGHING BRUH. his friend literally saved his life but none of the staff in the room really took it seriously 😒

The Heimlich and CPR should be taught in health class.
The teacher moved slow enough.
The boys family could SUE the school IF he had died or been seriously injured!
