OUTRAGEOUS Part 3:

The Power of Easter

SEACOAST CHURCH - Greg Surratt

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8 (NIV)

THE RESURRECTION GIVES US:

1. THE POWER TO LIVE

I do not understand the things I do. I do not do what I want to do, and I do the things I hate. Romans 7:15 (NCV)

A thief comes to steal and kill and destroy, but I came to give life —life in all its fullness.
John 10:10 (NCV)

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:11 (NLT)

2. THE POWER TO LOVE

This is my command: Love each other as I have loved you. John 15:12 (NCV)
You have heard that it was said, "Love your friends, hate your enemies." But now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may become the children of your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:43-45 (GNT)

3. THE POWER TO FORGIVE

Forgive us for our sins, because we forgive everyone who has done wrong to us... Luke 11:4 (NCV)

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, when my fellow believer sins against me, how many times must I forgive him? Should I forgive him as many as seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, you must forgive him more than seven times. You must forgive him even if he wrongs you seventy times seven." Matthew 18:21, 22 (NCV)

Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." - Luke 23:34 (NIV)

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly. Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)
