Purchased a Silver Sky (Mesa Gold) a little over a year ago, without playing it. Absolutely hated it, my short fingers just weren't comfortable with it. But then I realized that I wasn't really giving it a fair chance and made the decision to not play anything else but the Silver Sky for 2 months. Kerry, this guitar is just amazing!! It's not that the neck was too chunky or big for my hands, it was just different and I needed to give it enough time for me to adapt to it. It's now my favorite guitar. Just smooth feeling, amazing sounding, and very well made.

I have the Orion green silver sky as well. It took me a while to get the setup right but now that it is I love it. There was a really small shim in the neck pocket and when I took it out it was like magic. Enjoy!

I just received my signature series today. By far the best strat style guitar it actually fells better than my American Strat and plays and feel in a class of its own. Didn’t want to drop that much, but within moments I knew this was the Axe 🎸 I’ve been longing for

I appreciate the fact that your foremost advice is to get the guitar in your hands to get a feel for how you like it. As someone gaining interest in tone, I also appreciate your thought process behind setup and sweet spots being different from guitar to guitar.

I love the Silver Sky! PRS fixed all the stuff I didn’t enjoy about the fender strat.

I have a white silver sky with a maple neck. I’m a beginner/ intermediate guitarist and this guitar fits me very well. I’m talking feel, the sound and the look. The action/ fretwork on the guitar was flawless(for me), the neck is chunkyish but I have big hands so this is perfect(for me) but beware if you have small hands and use your thumb for Jimi Hendricks, John Mayor or Kerry2Smooth esk chords this may not be for you. The most important part are the pickups!! They say they were based off a vintage style strat that a John loves and I would say this guitar is the perfect RnB instrument because of this. Some of John’s music lends to the this guitars pickups to have this amazing low-end buttery sound to them. I own a fender pro 2 strat and those pickups are great but are more your classic higher end/ stratish sounding pickups. Ive read a lot of reviews and comments about how this guitar isn’t a strat or shouldn’t be in the same category and this may be valid see the above statement on the pick ups and feel, but for me this guitar has to be one of my most valuable investments I have made to date. If you can afford one/ get your hands on one(the core model $2, 500 or the SE model $850) like Kerry said I think you won’t be disappointed especially with the core model, you might have to double down on what Kerry said when getting you guitar setup correctly if you pick up the SE version since its made in Korea and not hand made in Maryland at the main PRS facility. But I herd the SE still has the Silver Sky core feel, a little less chunky neck, the pick ups are a tad hotter but still buttery smooth on the low end side for RnB. The colors aren’t the greatest currently so but they say there releasing more styles soon for the SE.

Brother, you're speaking my language. A few months ago I ordered a Suhr Classic T from Humbucker Music online. I just knew it would be my ultimate dream guitar, because I had played a similar one, the pawlonia Classic T at a store in Knoxville, TN. Well, the day it arrived, I AB'd it with my parts Tele. The Partscaster completely killed the Suhr. Definitely not what I expected. The Suhr had horrible fret buzz, plenty of neck relief, the action wasn't that low, no resonance, but it looked amazing. Sent it back the next day. I've thought about driving to Nashville and checking out an LSL Saticoy HSS at Corner Music. I completely agree with you that you have to get the guitar in your hands. No more online purchases for me. I Love the Lord, and love music. I wish I could find that guitar that feels like an extension of myself.

Tried one at my local dealer. Truly respect PRS but couldn't bond with the vintage radius. Maybe if it was set up to my playing style I would have bonded with it. Love your videos and courses.

Thanks for this vid. I have a 2020 white with rosewood board Core Silver Sky. Can you tell me what you did to get that single coil bridge pickup out and put the humbucker in that space and find a pickguard that made it all work . I may do that to mine because I'm a big bridge humbucker guy ( HSS is my first choice in configuration)
