In my experience the biggest sell for WV44 is that she is probably the single toughest ship in Tier 7 ranked so you can rely on her to hold points, push objectives, and generally be a threat that's difficult to ignore.

Her main drawback is that she lacks speed so in a faster match she can be easily outmaneuvered and swarmed.

This is why for most of my time in Bronze Ranked I think you're better off using her German counterpart Scharn '43 for that added versatility and mobility. Yes, she lacks the killer punch of the big guns but at close quarters and with that secondary battery in tow she's not exactly weak.

WV 44 has given me some massive dev strikes and some great brawling. But her main guns have also trolled the bleep out of me.
Colorado grounded 10 km away, full juicy broadside and the shells spray as if there was no aim lock, multiple salvos. It was brutal. And it wasn't the only time WV 's guns did inexplicable things like that.
She's a T7, a strong one but she's still a T7. Consistent main gun dispersion would make this beast clearly OP.

This ship made me millions of creds on the d day event. I couldnt hit those schnellboats with cruiser guns let alone bb mains, but the 44s 2nds were brilliant.

First match, love how allied Shchors does NOTHING. He chose to drive that ship, and it has weaknesses, but not playing doesn't seem like a good strategy. Then he comes out and just dies. Maybe he understands his skill better than I did. :)

In my case, the Renown 44 is the go to BB for ranked. She has almost everything needed to impact the game: she has speed, british acceleration, torpedoes...
Most importantly, with secondary build she can force an engagement and chase down dd with speed boost and hydro. Her weak armor overall and low shell volume can be compensated with mobility, tricky positioning. Also she has quick heal to actually survive long fights. What else could you ask for

I was in the Hood. Sorry I couldn't give you a better game. However, I'm in love with WV 44. The only issue I run into is the Sinop.

As you mention in the last clip that map is so good! I honestly think too many maps lack island cover and actual good island cover... I really think as a CC you should bring this up to WG and mention maps might need a rework maybe try get em to make a poll and see which maps really need it.

I actually refer Renown 44 over west Virginia. It has less range on the secondary, but same accuracy and massive fire chance (Daring guns), the ship is fast and has a speed boost. Also you have torpedos and 381mm main gun with relatively quick reload.

I purposely play tier 6 in the current tier 6-7 ranked, but I play Farragut. Bottom tier dd is not so bad and I somehow smash almost all dds I encounter. Also somehow am able to use torps decently in Farragut even with the suicide range. Smoke helps and if people are pushing helps since you can stealth launch without smoke if they are pushing. I have unicum/super unicum stats in ranked with Farragut according to wows numbers

Everyone is overlooking the HUGE 50mm (don't remember the exact amount but it's something not overmatchable) deck plating on the back of the ship, you can tank fairly well with it.
