Michael Jackson - Can't Get Outta The Gay (alternate Demo)

is one of the few b-sides from Michael Jackson’s solo career (remixes aside) to never appear on his studio albums. This is essentially an overdub of “You Can’t Win (Part 2)”, his single from The Wiz which repeats the phrase “can’t get out of the game”.

During the Thriller sessions, that line was vocally overdubbed and replaced with “can’t get out of the rain”. Although this new song wasn’t featured on Thriller, it appeared on the singles of “The Girl Is Mine” and “Billie Jean”.

In 2008, “Can’t Get Outta the Rain” finally appeared on multiple CD releases: The Essential Michael Jackson 3.0, the Japanese Thriller 25 singles box set, and some international versions of King of Pop. In 2022, it was revealed by YouTube’s Copyright ID that “Can’t Get Outta the Rain” would be the 15th track on Thriller 40.
