Classic Game Room - DARIUS TWIN for Super Nintendo review

Classic Game Room HD reviews DARIUS TWIN for Super Nintendo from 1991. This is a horizontally scrolling side scroller SHMUP for the Super Nintendo from Taito. One of many in the popular line of Darius games, blast sea creatures, lobsters, fish, underwater alien space ships and octopi into bits with your space ship. Play one player or 2 player co-op on screen at the same time. Darius is challenging and plays well on the 16 bit SNES, is it one of the best SNES shmup shooters? CGR doesn't care for the music or bland visuals that much. If you played Darius Gaiden on the Sega Saturn you may not either, but the gameplay is somewhat similar. Power up your space ship and blast everything that moves, collect weapon and shield upgrades and rack up arcade points. Picked this game up recently and I've been gaming since the early 80's so I've seen and played many games. This game is awesome and the music is incredible it takes me back to the early 90's. This game is so unique definitely a favourite of mine now.

I'm a 49 year old gamer who'd been playing since I was younger. But I've never been a shooter guy, right? So I got this game from my SNES.. I'm loving it is it just because of my rookie mentality

for the most part that is true, but some music programmers have done great things on the genny! check out the music from sonic the hedgehog, phantasy star 2, strider, revenge of shinobi, shinobi 3, streets of rage 1 & 2, batman and robin to name a few. i like the yamaha synth chip when it's used to it's full potential or even when it's not such as in the case of toejam & earl. ;)
